Meet Saheed and Lisa

British & Nigerian couple 🇬🇧🇳🇬

We first met in 2022 on tiktok. We had a shared interest in Afrobeats, and started talking. We became mutually very smitten quickly! I lived in Leeds west Yorkshire and Saheed lived in Lagos Nigeria.

I had two children to a previous relationship, but that didn’t stop Saheed and myself, plus my two kids doing video calls daily, building up a long distant relationship.

I knew he was my person, my fate and my soulmate. We spoke about marriage, children, future dreams and ambitions.

I sorted my visa out and within three months I was in Nigeria! We had the most fantastic time, trips to the beaches, historical places like point of no return, badagry museums, rode the bikes, we had so much fun together!

We married there, something we planned and discussed a lot. I came home very heart broken to leave him, I felt like my heart was ripped out, but we knew we couldn't be apart for long.

I planned to go back 5 months later, but to our surprise I came back from Nigeria not only as a wife, but with a baby inside me.

I knew then I wouldn't be going back to Nigeria. We had to start the process of a spouse visa.... If things was different I would happily live in Nigeria but that was never possible as I've got two other children so we knew Saheed would have to leave Nigeria. A place he has only ever known and is extremely fond of.

Saheed joined me here in the UK four weeks before our son was born. He made it to our last scan and obviously the birth of our son who was born in 2023.

We have all lived here in the UK as a family of five for two and a half years. We planned to grow our family further, which unfortunately ended in a recent miscarriage last year.

Yes we have had our fair share of culture shocks and differences and challenges but the love we have for one another has, and will always see us through life's challenges......

We definitely see our marriage as fate..... Xxx
